Despite original plans to remove TinyCMS.net from our domain renewal list, it has been decided that to prevent confusion and perhaps even the idea that TinyCMS has been discontinued, we will be supporting the TinyCMS.net domain but the site will remain on DesignSkate.com for the purpose of management.

TinyCMS is still receiving a lot of visitors, in-fact I think the visitor count per month is growing, we're at 3000 so far (July, not August sadly hehe)! Send us an email with your suggestions or feedback, the forums are a little inactive but they'll be left online and I do check them regularly.

Hello again! Lately there has been a lack of blog updates, this is mainly because I've been working on an old forum script of mine, TinyBB. This time however I've been working on setting up my own forum hosting service which can be seen here! Also, TinyCMS has almost if not already reached its limit for official updates to the source, besides a bug I still need to fix which Andy posted here a while back.

So what does the future hold for TinyCMS? I believe TinyCMS is perfect as it is. It even has an un-needed yet useful feature, drafts. The future of TinyCMS will be optional modifications & themes. I can assure you all content released by me will be open source as is TinyCMS. Thanks everyone for your support, TinyCMS' stats are not too bad as of late.

Sorry for the lack of blog updates, I've been busy with a few other projects recently. If you've downloaded 1.4, you'll notice it now has drafts! I said I was going to add them and although I doubted my ability to add them, it took a lot less time than expected. I did run into a few issues with the checking if a page is a draft or not etc, but it all worked out.

I've wanted a draft feature for a while now. It might not be of any use to you, but it does help if you're writing a big page, don't want to publish it but want to save it for later. Check out some screenshots of it below!



This will be a default feature in the 1.4 release (whenever it may be)... It has also come to my attention that page ordering could be useful, I'm still deciding how to do this but hopefully 1.4 should see page ordering included.

I'm afraid that due to a rather unfortunate event, our development files for TinyCMS' MySQL version has been lost for the time being. The hard drive used to contain the TinyCMS scripts failed today. This isn't an issue for those who are more concerned about TinyCMS as it is currently, as the files you download are the files used to edit the source. Hopefully the data can be recovered, as not just TinyCMS files were lost, other projects including my music source files were also lost. At this time, I'm putting the entire TinyCMS MySQL project on hold due to this and will now focus entirely on TinyCMS 1.x!

I've been saying that a MySQL version will be released soon, but I am getting ahead of myself. TinyCMS 1.2 as it is looks great to me, and the features are perfect for a light, database-less CMS. For this very reason, I've decided to continue with the development of TinyCMS as it is, even if future updates are in the form of optional upgrades. At a future date I may decide to bring out the MySQL version along side the original, but we'll see.

I've been looking at the themes download page for some time now, everytime thinking, "Wow, it's too complicated and looks awful!"... So today I finally decided to re-make the page and it looks much better, and I've re-added theme demos.

To our surprise, MakeUseOf actually mentioned us! This is great news and it's great that we were rated high enough on websites so that we got mentioned. We're still working on the development of TinyCMS by the way, we just don't want to update the script with a feature which defeats the point of "Tiny" CMS.
